Information for CMA Devon and Cornwall

Welcome

Welcome to Devon and Cornwall Branch of CMA (UK).

We try to get out on our bikes at least once a month to enjoy friendship & fellowship and to be a Christian witness to the local community.

All are welcome to our monthly prayer meeting, which is held on the evening of the second Tuesday of the month.  We meet more formally once a quarter to seek God in prayer and to encourage one another in our mission.

We cover many and varied events, bike festivals/shows and bike nights & rallies. In particular we plan to support the Plymouth Hoe Bike Nights on alternate Thursday evenings and Chequered Flag bike nights on alternate Wednesday evenings.

Please feel free to contact Philip on 07817 990230 or by email at secretary.devon@bike.org.uk if you'd like to know more.

Prayer requests within the Branch should be sent to prayer.devon@bike.org.uk

Requests relating to Pastoral matters should be addressed to pastor.devon@bike.org.uk

Vision Statement of Devon & Cornwall Branch

Practical

  • Monthly ride-out, lunching at a familiar place, to become known and to build relationships.
  • Encourage attendance at the National Rally and the Fellowship Weekend & AGM.
  • Put Biker Bibles in a cafe near to us, where we are known.
  • Be faithful at local meetings near to us e.g. Plymouth Hoe Bike Night; Chequered Flag Bike Night; charity ride outs; funeral escorts; other gatherings close to our homes; and that we support each other when we can.
  • Ask our churches whether we might be involved with a bikers' service.
  • Consider turning up together at churches and getting involved with conversation about CMA.
  • Interacting with and supporting other Branches nearby.
  • Being involved with one major outreach each year e.g. Creation Fest at Wadebridge; Spring Harvest at Minehead; others as they are notified.

Spiritual

  • Pray every time we meet.
  • A monthly prayer meeting, even via Zoom or WhatsApp Video, praying for our ministry and for the fostering of relationships and growth.
  • That we make opportunity for us to develop and share our 2-minute testimony.

Objectives

  • Spiritual growth.
  • Encouragement in the practicalities of sharing our Christian faith.
  • Numerical growth.

Biker's Service at Torrington Baptist Church

Event Date: 28/04/2024

Hi Gang,

Devon & Cornwall Branch of the CMA has been invited to do a Bikers’ Service next Sunday, 28th April, at Torrington Baptist Church. 10:00 a.m. for breakfast. The service at 10:30. Address below.

We don’t know much about the church and I have never met any of the leaders. They heard about us by reputation and invited us along to do a service, so that’s gotta be good.

The local bikers who meet at the mobile burger van at the edge of Torrington have been invited. If you’re able to support, that would be brilliant! All are welcome, whether on bikes or not.

Here’s the address and the google map link:
