CMA - Holy Joe’s at Rallies 2020

Hosting a Holy Joe's Café would mean that members of CMA wouldn't be unable to avoid close contact with anyone infected or a carrier of the Coronavirus. Therefore, as a duty of care to members, it has been decided by Mike Fitton (our National Chairman) and the North East Branch that CMA will not be hosting any Holy Joe's Café at events this year.

This is to protect members with underlying health issues and their families, together with a belief that this is too early for us to commit ourselves to large gatherings of this sort that could have the consequence of promoting a second wave of Covid-19.

As yet, the Government has not given permission for events of this size to go ahead and it seems unlikely that they will do so. It is also unlikely that the local community where the rally is to be held would welcome such an influx. Mike has communicated our decision to MAG and expressed our disappointment but we feel there is no alternative that would keep everyone safe.

We would prefer to look forward to the rallies next year when we anticipate the circumstances being safe for all, and look forward to being with you as a team in 2021.
